For PAD Paris 2026, Galerie Gastou presents a selection of works brought together under the theme of “inevitable forms”. These forms are timeless links that traverse artistic movements and resurface, tirelessly, as creators seek the essential. As artists pare down their language and refine their hand, certain lines emerge with an almost natural self-evidence.
Inevitable forms thus constitute a common root across styles and eras. They evoke what is necessary for precision: stripping away the superfluous, keeping only the core. It is in nature, in relief and erosion, that these forms reveal themselves most clearly. Mountains, rocks, vines, and mineral curves become a universal vocabulary.
The gallery thus presents a selection of furniture and sculptures by major creators who have each interpreted these organic forms in their own way. Agnès Debizet unveils an exceptional table inspired by a mountainous landscape, and Irène Cattaneo’s vine-like light fixtures evoke vegetal growth.
Mineral mirrors from Béatrice Serre capture the reflections of her precious stones and soft marble, and the pure, refined lines of André Dubreuil’s furniture recall the essential force of form when it reaches its point of equilibrium.
