On the occasion of Nomad Abu Dhabi 2025, Galerie Gastou traces a journey through modernism — a voyage across horizons where craftsmanship, material, and form become expressions of timeless movement.
The scenography by Joy Herro draws inspiration from that distant vision of Omar Sharif emerging from the desert horizon in Lawrence of Arabia. That moment — when heat, light, and anticipation converge into apparition — becomes here a meditation on the dialogue between vastness and design, where creation rises out of silence and light.
Joy Herro introduces the work of Lara Khoury, a fabric installation evoking horses in motion — ethereal forms inhabiting the landscape with quiet power. Their presence bridges movement and stillness, gesture and matter, echoing the creative tension that defines the gallery’s vision. Together, they invite the visitor on a suspended voyage — a reflection on design as memory, horizon, and modern grace.
The presentation brings together works by Béatrice Serre, Omar Chakil, Monique Rozanès, Emmanuel Jonckers, Martin Eisler, John Lloyd Wright, Emmanuel Babled, and others. Each piece stands as a landmark along this path, illuminating the gallery’s enduring dialogue between modernist vision and contemporary sensibility.
