    About the Artist

A multidisciplinary designer, Emmanuel Babled is distinguished by his ability to merge harmoniously artisanal know-how with cutting-edge technologies, giving birth to several collections of furniture, lighting, and sculptural objects that push the boundaries of traditional design.

Born in France in 1967, Emmanuel Babled graduated from the École Nationale Supérieure des Arts Décoratifs in Paris and studied at the Istituto Europeo di Design in Milan, where he obtained his master's degree in industrial design in 1989.

He quickly established himself on the contemporary design scene by founding his studio in 1992 and has since collaborated with some of the most prestigious artisanal craftsmanship manufacturers. His work has been exhibited in numerous international galleries and museums, including the Centre Pompidou, the Vitra Design Museum, and the Triennale Design Museum.

  • A Journey Through the Territoire

Emmanuel Babled bases his design approach on the idea that a project is born from direct contact with artisans and the territory where its production takes place. The observation of materials and vernacular techniques in their natural context, as well as the perception of places and social conditions, determine the final result.

He has pursued a long and fruitful collaboration with the city of Murano, near Venice, where he has been working closely with master glassmakers for over twenty years. Similarly, he works with marble from the workshops of Carrara and glazed volcanic stone from Sicily.

The exhibition Territoire is an invitation to travel through space and time where each creation carries the heritage of the traditions from which it originates, sublimated by the modern and innovative vision of Emmanuel Babled.
