Born in Paris, Quentin Vuong is a distinguished designer and artist whose work spans multiple scales, from intricate drawings to furniture and spatial design. Following his studies at the École Nationale Supérieure des Arts Décoratifs de Paris, Vuong moved to Italy and honed his craft through a residency at Fabrica, the renowned research and communication center for young talents in arts and design. Returning to Paris in 2016, he established his studio, focusing on creating sensitive objects and scenography for cultural events including collaborative exhibitions and fashion shows, among others.
Vuong's creations are celebrated for their harmonious dialogue between materials and textures, resulting in objects that interact subtly with light. His collection After the Rain particularly exemplifies this approach, featuring black resin droplets meticulously applied to matte wood surfaces, capturing the ephemeral beauty of raindrops resting after a storm. His witch mirrors, gilded with white gold leaf or fine silver, have a liquid and imperfect quality, adorned with intentional cracks that evoke the passage of time.
The synonymous exhibition at the Galerie Gastou marks a pivotal moment in Vuong's career, offering an unprecedented opportunity to experience his work on a grand scale. The exhibition, featuring a comprehensive selection of these innovative designs, invites visitors to engage in a tactile and light-filled contemplation of nature within interior spaces.
Quentin Vuong's journey from a Parisian design student to an internationally recognized contemporary designer is a testament to his innovative vision and dedication to his craft. The Galerie Gastou is honored to play a pivotal role in presenting his work to a broader audience, reaffirming our commitment to supporting and promoting groundbreaking designers in the contemporary art scene.
